A 30-year-old #Delhi resident, on Friday, was given the first dose of undertrial #coronavirus vaccine #Covaxin at Delhi's All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (#AIIMS). "The first dose of 0.5 ml intramuscular injection was given to him around 1.30 pm. No immediate side-effects have been observed so far. He was under observation for two hours and will be monitored for the next seven days," Dr Sanjay Rai, Professor at the Centre for Community Medicine at AIIMS said. Human trials for India's first #COVID-19 vaccine, #COVAXIN, are beginning today at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences #AIIMSS). In Phase I, the vaccine would be tested on 375 volunteers; 100 of them would be from the AIIMS. AIIMS, New Delhi is among the 12 sites which have been selected by the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) for conducting the Phase I and Phase II human trials for Covaxin. #COVID #COVAXIN #AIIMSS
