A #vaccine against #COVID-19 may be ready by year-end, the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Tuesday. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, addressing the end of a two-day meeting of its Executive Board on the pandemic, said: "We will need vaccines and there is hope that by the end of this year we may have a vaccine. There is hope." Zydus has received approval from Indian regulators to begin human studies for its #Covid-19 #vaccine contender. It is not certain that scientists will be able to create an effective vaccine against the #coronavirus that has caused the #COVID-19 pandemic, but it could take a year before one were to be invented, the head of the World Health Organisation (#WHO) said. "It would be very difficult to say for sure that we will have a vaccine," Tedros Adhanom, Director General of the WHO said. "We never had a #vaccine for a coronavirus.
